I have to disagree.

It is "free poker". You don't have to buy a drink. You don't have to buy a meal. You don't pay a cover and you don't buy chips.

Whether or not you spend money for gas, and the opportunity cost involved doesn't enter into it. For example, if there is a "free concert" held at Texas Stadium, it only applies to the cost to get in, which is free. It is up to the individual whether or not they drive there (using gas), buy food or drinks, or even go at all. It is free. The rest is up to each and every person.

I agree with you 100% 8912. I've met a large number of great friends playing free poker. Many of us went on a trip to the WSOP this summer and had a blast.

On top of that I met my wife the very first time I played bar poker. So I have much to be thankful to "Free Poker" for.

Congrats to you on finding a wife Shamrock.

In addition, "Personally i go to free poker with [-] expectations" of winning and networking. Before each hand I pray, "Lord, let me break even today. I really need the money" (LOL)

Moreover, social interaction is a byproduct of congregation at any venue or establshment. Therefore, I could not categorize it into cost and benefit anaylsis.

There is no free meal, "if there is a "free concert" held at Texas Stadium", there is an associated cost. An individual has to factor that opportunity cost into his/her decision making.

Opportunity Cost
1. The cost of an alternative that must be forgone in order to pursue a certain action. Put another way, the benefits you could have received by taking an alternative action.

lol I appreciate you providing the definition, but I'm pretty well versed in the term being a CPA and having a graduate degree in banking from SWGSB.
