Well, Merlotgirl came up to visit me while I work in Kansas City this weekend. It was a multi purpose trip. First to visit me, since I've been traveling a lot lately. Secondly, to visit her sister who lives in KC, and I will get to meet later tonight. And lastly, to play in Harrah's Monthly $300 Buy-In Tournament in North Kansas City.
The tournament is limited to 30 players and she bought in Friday night when she got the lay of the land as I was working late. From her reports you started with t5,000 and the blinds went up pretty aggressively every 30 minutes. After 3 and a half hours of play they were down to the final 6 and paying only 4. They decided to chop at that point with Merlotgirl (2nd shortest stack) and the shortest stack willing to take $800 each, the remaining 4 took home $1,300. Not a bad chop for the short stacks considering that 3rd place was going to pay $750.
