That was actually a very interesting and helpful post.

After checking the figures I do see the point in the post and was not aware the odds were so high.

My intention was to bring something a bit more exciting and try to give players a chance at nightly excitement rather than waiting all week.

I do have some confusion as to how Choctaw manages to hit their tournament once a month or less consistently. I understand that they will play more hands for more time with more tables however it doesn’t seem that it would cause a gap in the odds from every 3-4 weeks to over 3 years.

I would very much like to hear player opinions on this matter.

Please submit to this post or email me directly at adam@ahlpoker.com.

It is very important that players like what they are playing for and your opinions are greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Simply increasing the final table to 10 people from 8 reduces the expected time from 3 years 2 months 9 days to 2 years 1 month and 10 days!

Sad to see this ended after only 1 week. It would have been an interesting social experiment to see if the attendance would change when the pot got to be 2000 or more.

I think you should have a standing $1000 bad beat pot like this at all venues, on every final table. The cost to finance this is < 50 cents per final table.

It would also be nice if there were some "Fun" rewards like a free drink or hat or something for having your aces cracked. One of the dealers sometimes has a "Bonus Round" where he pays the blinds when they go to 300-600. That is fun, and free.

Cheers & Beers,
WW

I like the feedback! Very Happy

The standing bad beat is a great idea, let me do some research...

Thank you,

Adam
